The Fall Guy 2024
" I can hit the rock better now. Thanks."
“You are just doing this because a unicorn told you to.”“What do you think? Do you think they're going to try?”
Fun, fun, fun. I think that is all I need to say or at least I think that it is all I want to say so I don't spoil this experience for you.
The Fall Guy is an exhilarating, fun and engaging time at the movies. It is a film that exemplifies the spirit of the summer blockbuster as well as moviemaking in general. I'm almost disappointed with myself because I was unable to experience this love letter to cinema in the cinema. Though that does not diminish the sheer joy and enthusiasm that erupts from every frame of this film.
it encapsulates the joy of visual storytelling, not because it subverts expectations, but because it knows how to wield our expectations with mastery and enthusiasm. It has been said that there are no new ways to tell a story. It has all been done before. The Fall Guy seems to laugh at that cynical take on Story, and suggests that, even if that take is true, it doesn't matter. A story may be just a story, but it's how you tell it that makes it something special. Something that is unique and all your own.
This story is one of those that reminded me why I love film. It reminded me that every story matters, because every person experiences it in a different way, even if there are universal truths throughout all our experiences. I'm getting too philosophical here.
The Fall Guy is extremely entertaining, funny and meaningful. Director David Leitch and his team know their craft, and they execute it here with engaging passion. This is a story of love in all aspects. It pronounces with trumpets of joy that, even if we are unseen it does not mean we do not matter.
Rated PG-13 for action and violence, drug content and some strong language.
I found The Fall Guy to be extremely entertaining, meaningful and visually engaging. I hope in some way you do too.
