Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 2024

Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes is a technical marvel . Its CGI primates are second to none. Yet, what really separates the Apes franchise from its contemporaries is its willingness to examine what it really means to be human. The question: what does it mean to be human? Is so synonymous with these films that it almost comes across as redundant and unnecessary in the grand scheme of the characters' thematic journeys. So why is the question still being asked?

The answer? The question still needs to be asked. Over and over again, we forget what has come before, and don't care what will come after. The Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes echoes its siblings in many ways, but what it adds to the conversation is perhaps even more needed. It is this, the only way injustice, discrimination and racism will end is if we are the ones to do it. We all have the ability to say no more. All we need to do is to say it.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a technical marvel, but it is even more impressive that the film maintains its stance on the dignity of human beings and the world they inhabit.
Director Wes Ball and his team beautifully add to this legacy by asking us to contemplate the question, are we just swinging the pendulum back and forth, or do we really want to stop it?

I found this film to be technically enthralling, thought provoking and meaningful. I hope in some way you do too.
