King of the Hill season 14 (2025)

King of the Hill, season 14

“Bobby, this…”

“What's wrong dad?”

“This isn't some ash tray you made in art class I have to pretend to like, this is The Cowboys.”

“Are you ready to make some memories dad?
-King of the Hill, season 14

There is something wonderfully average about King of the Hill. Perhaps it's the show's ability to succinctly drill down to the core of a cultural viewpoint, it may also stem from the show's down to earth humor that rings true on all levels of social satire and cultural commentary. All the while never losing its clear and simplistically profound understanding of the human endeavor. King of the Hill is the joy and struggle of being human distilled down to its very essence, and its 14th season delivers this truth with a relevance that we've seemingly been missing since the show ended its first run 15 years ago.
Animated TV show revivals seem to be a dime a dozen nowadays. Though King of the Hill takes this now well-worn pattern of cancellation and subsequent revival and it executes with tremendous skill and meaningful nuance. This show of a suburban Texas family of three thrives on taking its principal characters and throwing them into a world they have no concept of. In essence, they are fish out of water in the best way possible. The show’s comedy does not come from their irrelevance to the world around them, instead it comes from their journey of comprehension. The blending of their values with those of the world they now confront. This is also where the social and political commentary comes wonderfully into play, because the show is not a fight against one side or the other, on the contrary, it is a journey of discovery of where our values lay.
In the end we may not all agree on one issue or another, though we all have the capacity to be neighbors in this hectic world of ours. That is what the Hill family represents best. A willingness to coexist in a world of disagreements and changes. However, this does not mean that they lose their core values to assuage the views of others, or that this world is not filled with joy or understanding. It just means that we all are human, with all our varied quirks and viewpoints. Creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels along with their team, plant a flag with the 14th season of King of the Hill. Demonstrating once again that simplicity is a synonym for family, friends and the joys of propane and its numerous accessories.

Rated TV-14 for language, strong thematic elements and sexual references,/situations
(Equivalent to PG-13)

I found the 14th season of King of the Hill to be charmingly entertaining, insightful and wonderfully honest. I hope in some way you do too.

The 14th season of King of the Hill with all the previous seasons, can be streamed on Hulu or the Disney Plus Hulu bundle combined app with a subscription.
